Ghanaian Canadian Association of Calgary was founded on June 13, 1980 at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Matthew Boadi along with Ama Shinnie, Dr. Nii Ayi, Dacosta Mensah, J. Ocran, Dr. and Mrs. Quarshie, Archie Adams, Yaw Twumasi and Patricia and Kofi Fofie.
